Date nights, girls night out, Mother's Day, etc. I've been to bridal and baby showers here as well. So it was only obvious that I'd choose them to host my son's baptism reception this past weekend. Food and service were excellent. Great menus for adults and kids. 3 appetizers, 4 entrees, cake and beer and wine included in a very reasonable package. Staff was professional and attentive. We received numerous compliments from our guests on the party. Very happy with the service we received and look forward to booking future events (and of course having a regular night out) at Sams. read less

Went with no reservations on a Saturday night and only table was in the bar area so we settled in to a cozy high top. The place is very quaint, older tables and open floor feeling. Angelo waited on us and his gracious knowledge and answers to our Dobbs Ferry questions were comforting as my daughter is considering attending college there. But on to the food! We were served delicious gratis bruschetta bread plus a warm crusty loaf which I love at Italian restaurants. I ordered the clams casino special and we devoured them- so yummy! Next came the complimentary salad with house dressing, perfectly mixed and refreshing! We've eaten both outside and inside a few times, now that the Covid numbers have improved in Dobbs Ferry so yesterday when it started to rain we were happy to get a reservation. The place was pretty crowded by current standards, almost like the old "pre-pandemic" days! We started with the Caesar salad (not thinking that the dinners usually come with a salad). Generously portioned, fresh and crisp romaine lettuce, flavorful dressing and toasted croutons. For dinner, she ordered grilled pork chops, I, the veal osso bucco special. Both were well prepared and nicely served. The veal, served over rice, with some sliced grilled mushrooms and string beans sautéed with garlic was flavorful and falling off the bone tender. The chops were delicious, served with some apple sauce and steamed string beans. We finished with coffee and a tartufo. I excellent dinner!v we'll be back. read less

The servers were very lovely and brought the food out quickly. It was excellent and we had a nice time. My date commented that it was some of the best pizza he's had in NY (which might have been because he was from jersey lol.)
The price wasn't bad at all. We got a regular pie to share and both ended up very full.

Worth EVERY single cent.
I had the spaghetti and meatballs. Two large and firm (just the way I like 'em) they were tasty and not drowning in sauce. If you like 'em small and the kind that fall apart when you touch them, then these are not for you. The pasta was al dente and the serving size was more than generous.
My wife had the pasta primavera. If we were home she would have licked the plate clean. I encouraged her not to do so here. Cooked but not overly so vegetables with al dente pasta.
Excellent service. There when you needed it, not so when you didn't. Good wine list.
All-in-all winner, winner, good time dinner.

I was sitting at the bar at Sam’s a few weeks back, contemplating the menu over a glass of Chianti when a customer a few seats down (a regular, I learned later) began extolling the virtues of the restaurant’s calamari Siciliano. He took a sip of his cocktail and asked, “If I order some, will you share it with me?” Who could say no to that? It disappeared, pronto. I offered to buy, or at least split the charge; he declined.
